Justice is delivered:
One day a Mureed (disciple) of the Great Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti (ra) came to him and complained that the Governor had subjected him to incessant harassment and that day he had also banished him from the confines of the city. The Great Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti (ra) told his Mureed to return home telling him that the Governor had already been punished by God. When the man returned home, he heard of the Governor's death owing to a fatal fall from his horse while hunting.
Ana Sagar:
The Great Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti (ra) remained settled with his few followers on the bank of Ana Sagar Lake. The followers of the Holy Saint used to draw water from it and sometimes they would catch fish from the Sagar and rarely slaughtered cows. These activities were repugnant to the sentiments and religious feelings of the Raja. Around Ana Sagar there were many temples. The Brahmin priests of these temples complained about such anti-Hindu activities to the Raja. The Raja immediately ordered the removal of all these Muslim derveshes and his companions from the Ana Sagar Hill.
Prithvi Raj Chauhan's servants not only demanded the removal of Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti (ra) and his followers but also arrogantly insisted on their vacating the Ajmer soil. This notice of leaving Ajmer was made in a very indecent and improper tune. In no circumstances could the Great Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti (ra) agree to the withdrawal from Ajmer with his companions because he was there under the instructions and command of the Holy Prophet ﷺ and by the will of Almighty Allah.
When all these temple Brahmin priests mobbed and attacked the Great Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti (ra) with the ultimate aim of murdering him, Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti (ra) took some dust in his own hands and threw it upon these cruel Brahmins which made them retreat and some of them lost sense and some of them lost eye sight and a few even ran away in terror.
When the Raja noticed this he became very perturbed and disheartened. Then he took a very inhuman step against the Muslim Faqir and his companions. The Raja in accordance with the Brahmins request, ordered that the water from Ana Sagar be stopped for the Great Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti (ra) and his followers.
Prithvi Raj Chauhan raised the alarm and posted his army on all sides of Ana Sagar and strictly ordered the soldiers that Muslims should not be allowed to carry water from the Ana Sagar. When Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti’s (ra) followers came to take water from Ana Sagar, they saw that the Ana Sagar water was totally banned for them and the Military was posted there. The companions became very much frightened. Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti's (ra) followers returned with an empty jug to Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti (ra) and explained whatever they had seen.
On hearing the events, Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti (ra) felt deeply hurt and he himself took the Kooza (tumbler) and went down towards Ana Sagar. As soon as Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti (ra) came across a soldier, he prevented him from taking water from the Ana Sagar tank. Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti (ra) looked at his face with his miraculous eyes. The soldier could not tolerate Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti’s (ra) angry face. He became nervous and fell down on the ground unconscious and dropped the sword from his hand. The Great Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti (ra) absorbed and fetched the whole water of the Ajmer city in the Kooza (tumbler) including the Ana Sagar water. All sources of water for the city mysteriously disappeared. Even the milk in the breasts of nursing mothers and animals dried up.
This disappearance of water was noted by Prithvi Raj's people with consternation. This miracle caused a great change in the sentiments and ambitions of the public.
Consequently, a large number of people embraced Islam at the hand of the Great Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti (ra). The strength of the opposition to him decreased owing to this unprecedented miracle. Prithvi Raj Chauhan was criticised by the public for the disappearance of the water. In spite of his best efforts and tactics water could not be restored. At last Prithvi Raj Chauhan personally went to the Great Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti (ra) and said that in future he would not ban the use of water for any human being or creature, which is a free gift of nature. He apologised to the Saint and the water facility was restored to all instantaneously.
Onmi Present (Hajj Case):
It has been reported that, the Great Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti (ra) undertook two Hajj pilgrimages of Mecca before coming to India. What is astounding and left many dumb founded are the eye-witnesses in Mecca every year of people reporting seeing the Great Saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti (ra) performing Hajj while others at the same time saw him present at Ajmer. This phenomenon is even more astonishing when we consider the fact that this phenomenon of being present at two places at the same time was and still is impossibility for normal people
Khawja Qutbuddin r.a asking help of His peer o Murshid Khawja Moinuddin r.a:
One day Khwaja Qutbuddin Bakhtiar Kaki (ra), the beloved Khalifa and spiritual successor of the Great Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti (ra) was having a stroll with king Shams-ud-din Iltutmish of Delhi.
The king courtiers were also in attendance, when all of a sudden an attractive woman barred their way and started wailing bitterly. When asked by the king the reason for her willing, she replied that: she was pregnant with child and Khwaja Qutbuddin Bakhtiar Kaki (ra) was responsible for that. She insisted on her nikah (marriage) with him. The king and his courtiers were terribly upset because they knew that the Khalifa was a pious man, with untarnished integrity.
The Khalifa himself became ghostly at the statement made by the women. He turned his face in the direction of Ajmer and invoked the help of his Pir-o-Murshid, Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti (ra).
All of a sudden the Holy Saint appeared in the midst of the King and his courtiers. The King and his courtiers were wonder-struck at his sudden appearance and hurriedly offered their homage.
The Saint then asked his Khalifa the reason for remembering him (the Saint). The Khalifa was too dumb-struck to answer and tears ran down his face. Thereupon, Great Khawaja Baba (ra) turned to the woman and addressed the child in the womb. "O’ confined child, your mother is accusing Khwaja Qutbuddin (ra) of being your father, now speak out the truth and say if the accusation is correct." By the grace of God, the child in the woman's womb replied, "Your Honour, the statement of my mother is a lie; the enemies of Khwaja Qutbuddin (ra) accused the holy man only out of jealousy so that he would be discarded in the eyes of the people." The people assembled there were astonished at the voice from the woman's womb. Realizing that she could not escape, she admitted her guilt openly before the King and his courtiers.
It is said that an official (mufti) bore a grudge against Khwaja Qutubuddin (ra) because of the special treatment enjoyed by him under King Shams-ud-din Iltutmish, hence this wickedly contrived plot failed miserably.
Revival of Death:
An old woman tearfully came to the saint who was at that time performing his prayers. She told him that the governor had murdered her son for no fault of him, and begged the great Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti (ra) for justice. He, taking his walking stick asked the woman to show the place where the body of her son was lying. His devotees also followed him. Placing the dismembered head in its proper position on the corpse, he prayed to god to restore the life of the dead man if he was innocent. The young man got up whole and hearty and the very next moment both he and his old mother fell down at the feet of the saint of Ajmer out of gratitude.
Milk From Immature cow:
One day Khawaja Moinuddin Chishty was sitting on the bank of the Ana-sagar lake at Ajmer. A shepherd-boy happened to pass before him with a herd of young cows who had not yet acquired their maturity. The Khawaja Sahib asked the boy for some milk from his herd. The boy took it to be a joke and said, "Baba they are all young calf of immature age; they do not yield any milk at this age." The Khawaja Sahib smiled and, pointing towards a young cow, said, "I would like to drink the milk of that cow, go and milk her." The boy obeyed rather hesitatingly. When he went to milk this particular cow, he was simply astonished to find her teats fully developed and over-flowing with milk. The boy filled several receptacles with milk which 40 persons drank to their full satisfaction. He was so much impressed by this strange miracle that he became great devotee of Khawaja Sahib.
Rescue of Sheikh Ali:
One day Hazrat Khawaja Moinuddin was passing through a street of Ajmer with his attendant Sheikh Ali. Suddenly a creditor of Sheikh Ali appeared on the scene and, holding him by his garment insisted upon the payment of his debt in a very insolent
manner. Pleading on behalf of his attendant, the Great Khawaja assured the creditor that his debt would now be paid soon and requested him to let Sheikh Ali go for the time being. But the creditor would not allow the attendant to move until his money was paid on the spot. This obduracy at last invoked Khawaja Sahib’s proverbial sympathy for human shortcomings. In a state of ‘jazba’ (intense feeling) he took off his ‘Chadar’ (the wrapper which he wore) and flung the same on to the ground. And as soon as the ‘Chadar’ was flung, it was covered with a big heap of precious silver and gold coins. The Khawaja Sahib then asked the creditor, "Please take away your debt, counting honestly as much as it is due to you, from this heap but be careful not to pick up even a single coin more than what is your legitimate due." Overpowered by greed at the sight of such a vast wealth, the creditor mischievously thought of picking up more than what was actually due to him. But as soon as he stretched his hand towards the money with this evil intention, it dried up and his arm became as stiff as an iron rod. The creditor and the
onlookers were wonder-struck at this awful experience. Realising his guilt, the creditor fell at the feet of the great saint and begged for mercy. The Khawaja Sahib accepted the man’s apology with his characteristic benevolence and prayed to God for the restoration of his arm to its normal condition.
Murderer becomes devotee:
Once a person appeared before Hazrat Khawaja Sahib and pretended to say that he was eager to pay his homage to the great saint on that particular day. The Khawaja Sahib replied "Here I am, but first fulfil your promise that brings you here". The man began to tremble with the idea that his secret was out before he could act and, admitting his guilt, he at once offered his profound apologies. As a matter of fact, this man was a hireling of some of the enemies of Hazrat Khawaja and had come with theprecise intention of murdering the holy saint, a fact which the great saint came to know by his intuitive powers. The man prayed for the pardon of the saint who forgave him magnanimously. The men then embraced Islam and became one of the devoted `mureeds’ of Khawaja Moinuddin for the rest of his life.
Khawja Saab was never angry:
Says Hazart Qutubuddin Bakhtiyar Kaki (R.A), " I never saw Hazart Khwaja Gharib Nawaz (R.A) angry with anyone as long as I remained with him. One day, Hazart Khwaja Gharib Nawaz (R.A) accompanied me and a servant Shaikh Ali were going out. Suddenly a man caught hold Shaikh Ali of his clothes and started abusing him. Hazart Khwaja Gharib Nawaz (R.A) asked the reason of the dispute. He said " Shaikh Ali is debtor and is not repaying the amount given to him."GHARIB NAWAZ (R.A) said, "Leave him. He will repay your debt." But the man again insisted. So GHARIB NAWAZ (R.A) got angry and he spread his shawl on the ground and asked to take from the shawl amount equal to the debt and warned not to take more than debt. The man picked up the money certainly more than the debt and soon his hand dried up. So he started crying and asked for mercy. GHARIB NAWAZ (R.A) pardoned him and his hand recovered. The man immediately became the disciple of GHARIB NAWAZ (R.A) .
Future prediction:
.It is said –During his tour, GHARIB NAWAZ (R.A) , Ohududdin Kirmani (R.A) and Shaikh Shahbudin(R.A) were sitting together at a place and discussing some religious point of faith. Suddenly a young boy with a bow and arrow in hand passed by GHARIB NAWAZ (R.A) saw him and said, " The boy is the future king of Delhi." And his prediction proved to be true and boy became the king of Delhi with the name of king Shamsuddin Altamash and ruled the country for about 26 years.
Gentleness of Huzoor Khawja Ghareeb Nawaz r.a:
A man came to him with the bad intention of killing him and showed great faith and loyalty to GHARIB NAWAZ (R.A) . But his intention was revealed to GHARIB NAWAZ (R.A) . So he said, "I am here, Do whatever you desire." Hearing this, the man started trembling and with great humbleness he told that it was not his own desire. Some other man wanted him to commit this heinous crime. Then he took out the dagger, and placed it before GHARIB NAWAZ (R.A) and asked for punishment. But GHARIB NAWAZ (R.A) said, " Revenge is not the practice of the Saints. Well, I pardon you." The man fell into the feet of GHARIB NAWAZ (R.A) , repented, accepted Islam and became a disciple.
Respect:
One day, GHARIB NAWAZ (R.A) was sitting among the disciples and preaching. Suddenly he saw something on his right side. He stood up as paying respect to somebody. It happened again and again as and when he glanced towards right side. When the assembly was over and people left away, one of his servants asked the reason as to why he had been standing up repeatedly on having a look at right side. GHARIB NAWAZ (R.A) said, "The Mazar of my Peer-o-Murshid is located in that direction. As I looked towards that direction, the Mazar came before my eyes, so I stood up to offer respect."
